This evocative documentary was produced by Soundart Radio for BBC Radio Devon after we became fascinated by the apple trees that grow wild in the margins of the dual carriageway. A research project began, and many stories and voices were gathered, including those of a transport historian, an apple importer/exporter, guerilla gardeners, orchard owners, cider makers and the man who once lived in the last toll house to be demolished when the new road was built.
