The Music That Makes Us, hosted by Ruth A. Hargrave & Robert Nune,  is a bi-weekly radio show celebrating the transformative power of music. The show features an eclectic mix of music, art, and entertainment guests, each sharing the tracks that have shaped their lives and careers. With live performances, personal stories, and listener requests, it weaves together sound and storytelling to create a truly unique experience.

Ruth’s connection to music is deeply rooted in her upbringing. Raised in a recording studio in Cornwall, she was surrounded by musicians and creativity from an early age. Her father, a music producer, and her stepfather, a drummer for the legendary band Hawkwind, helped shape her love of the music. With a professional background in theatre and stage management, Ruth brings her passion for music and storytelling to the airwaves, blending personal insight with rich musical narratives.

For Ruth, The Music That Makes Us is more than a radio show—it’s a tribute to her late fathers and brother and a celebration of the universal connection we all share through music. It’s about the songs that stay with us, the memories they hold, and the stories they tell.

Join Ruth & Robert bi-weekly on Friday's from 11–1 pm to discover hidden gems, hear inspiring stories from guests, and explore the music that shapes who we are. The Music That Makes Us invites listeners on a journey into the heart of music and its enduring impact on our lives.
